March 31st, 2009New logo
January 5th, 2009After a few months of working on our rebranding we have finalized the new logo. The concept of the V-line reflects the essential bevel aesthetic-clean, modern, well-balanced- with a powerful statement of our renewal and confidence in the brand. We decided to drop the “specs” from the name to reinforce the idea of an evolution of bevel as a “stand-alone” brand. That is to say that we believe we no longer need to say we are a “specs company”.
Japan November 08
November 24th, 2008Rick fractured his elbow, so I got to enjoy the snow in Fukui on my own. I shot some video at the factories which will come later, had some great yakitori, Korean barbecue and of course a few draft Asahis! I saw the new protos for the Spring release- looking great- and was really excited to see the men’s sunglass collection coming to fruition. A shot of the suns and thereafter one from my suite in Tokyo looking at Tokyo tower.

September 4th, 2008A couple of sneak preview shots of the new collection to come in the fall. The theme this time is “Wines” for the names of the styles. Retro Nuevo is a continuing design thread combined with some incredible new titanium and acetate combinations.
We are also working on a major rebranding campaign including new cases, new POP, and a visual campaign to come at the beginning of next year.
Visit to Japanese Buddhist Eheiji Temple
June 6th, 2008We are excited to start our blog in the past! This is a quick view of some of the photos we took on a visit to the most important Buddhist Shrine in Japan, which happens to be a half hour drive from the factories in Fukui.
We had visited this area many times before discovering this shrine during this busy trip. We only had just over an hour but it was worth it.
